When her mum wins the lottery, Jayni feels really worried that her dad will spend it on something dodgy. They all celebrate at T.G. Fridays. When her mum gets very drunk jayni is worried so when her dad tells her to go to bed she won't because she is seared that her dad will start to hit her mum again. She is very cheeky to him and he slaps her hard. He runs off to the pub and her mum will not have him hit her so they pack there bags and run. They go to London with the money and stay in a Fancy hotel. When the money starts to run out her mum has to find a new home for them to live in. It is a grotty old flat that smells. Her mum gets a new job at the local pub when she goes out to by some fags for her nerves. Her mum gets a new boyfriend Jake who is at collage. He has no money or home of his own. When her mum gets cancer he leaves them. When her mum goes in for an operation Jayni has to look after her brother but her mum has to stay in longer then she expected. Jayni runs out of money and has to ask her neighbours for some food. She phones up her aunty Barbra for some cash but she ends's up coming to live with them because her mum is still in hospital. i would rate this book 4 1/2 stars because i would really like to know the ending but it was a funny but scery book at thwe same time. will her mum beat the cancer?
